Entice your Customers with Support
People today are finding themselves more and more playing the juggler. Balancing career, personal life, parenthood and/or also being a student. Daily activities and services that can make this juggling act easier take priority and improve the quality of life.
I have four ways as a retailer (or small business owner) you can service your customer more.
First you need to know your customer inside out. I’m sure you already do, but think of them as an individual and then apply this model. For purpose of this model I’m going to use my maternity store as an example to my four points.
1. Research trends in your area.
-I would research birthing trends in my area (home birth, hospital birth, birth center, etc)
2. Use these trends to offer your customers what they will need.
-I found that birthing trend on the rise in San Diego is using a birth center to deliver a baby. So I have guest speakers from birthing centers come to the store and educate and share stories with our customers. We also provide free resources for birth centers, doulas, and midwives on line and in the store.
3. Look for Comfort : After finding the need make it comfortable and personal.
-During these events I have refreshments and they are free. I also take the time to collect feedback and ask the customer to share with me what they got out of the class along with their concerns for birth. This allows me to become a better service provider and shows them by listening I care and want to sincerely help them during their pregnancy.
4. What outside Support can you connect with to better service your customer.
- Dress for the Nines has outside affiliates that are Healthcare Professionals that can bring expertise and knowledge to the subject of maternity. By networking and connecting with these proffessionals it is providing more services we can offer our customer and also benefits the affiliates. The professionals can connect with perspective clients and we benefit from their expertise and time.
